Pattern Chess

By Gerd P. Degens

Pattern chess - a game with a structured setup.

The pawn gets new moves, the other pieces move as in normal chess.

The game is played on a 8 x 8 board. The FIDE rules apply - with the following exceptions.

The promotion of the pawn takes place as usual; castling is omitted.

Except for the pawn, all other pieces move as usual.

The Pawn either moves one square diagonally forward without capturing, or one squares forward on which opponent's pieces can be captured.
