Well, that's definitely a "kink." I think I miscounted or something. I changed the ID move as indicated.

I think the piece is an invention of Lev's; if it's the description that should've been changed, hopefully he'll speak up.

Well, if you mean that the contagion applies to anything but rifle/locust captures, then the diagram has you covered already (this is logically equivalent to it applying only to capture that stop on the victim square). In the current ID setup, the pieces that have rifle/locust captures (Vampire, Ghost, and Hangman) only transform when they stop on the Zombie Pawn's square.

This can be made a little clearer in the Zombie Pawn's description, but that is really simple. Just add the underlined text at the spot it appears in.

What further kinks are with the Vulture?

There may be other inconsistencies that I have yet to discover. Other than that and the fact that the Vulture's kinks need sorted out, this looks good.

I'm thinking something like "moves to the squares (1,4) by making exactly three orthogonal and one diagonal step in any order, all in the same direction." Even that doesn't clearly exclude a move that only allows a single turn in the path

If you knew what is really happening during Halloween you might never sleep at night. But we are not allowed to talk about that. 

Next on your list should be a chess variant called "The Battle of Titans" and use all the monsters from the ancient Greek legends. You already have the Cerberus, then you can add the Unicorn, Hydra, Medusa, Titans (or giants), Half Gods (or demi gods), Prometheus, Neptune, Zeus, Hera, Athens etc. and all the hybrid creatures you can find. 

So, what do you think?

I'm open to suggestions for more monsters for the second row, and opinions on the suggestion that Florin already made (which I'm still considering).

That's worth considering, though it would take a little extra juggling. Note that all of the second-row pieces can jump the Pawns, but the Ghosts will lose that (at least, for the first move) unless they are also moved forward.
