Rules

The rules are the same as regular Chess for the Chess side. The Shogi pieces (lance, horse, silver general and gold general) promote while inside the Promotion Zone (the four last ranks on the opposite side of where it started). Pawns can promote to a Rook, a Dragon King, a Dragon Horse, a Knight, a Bishop, a Silver General, or a Gold General. The Lance cannot castle. Pawns attack and move the same way that they do in Orthochess.
