Thank you for correcting it.

Please correct this external link (I cannot seem to do so myself, somehow); the correct URL is http://zzo38computer.org/tex/texchess.zip

Very nice; I'll have to open things up and see how it goes, but I remember having trouble trying to make reasonably nice pictures for a math-heavy chess variant article.

Hello. Yes, I did submit to CTAN (but they did not add it to the directory yet).

Yes I did see the other packages and that they do not handle many chess variants very well. Which is one reason I wrote this.

Later on I might add more things to this program. You can also post any suggestions you have, and I might add it in. I am not very good at drawing, so there are some things missing from the included font, some piece icons I wanted to add (such as courier and spider).

And it has also been my idea to add another font for shogi, and add the necessary codes for holding pieces and dropping them on board (which I certainly might do in the future). For shogi the board is not checker, so the font would be simpler in many ways, just have the kanji for many kind of pieces, and rotate 180 degrees for other player's pieces. There can then also include symbols for digits and kanji numbers (for notations) and for dot marking where the promotion zone is. And then we can even make book of tsume shogi with this. (I also like to play tsume shogi game on GameBoy)

Also be free to ask any questions you have about the use of this program, if you need help; and in the next version I might include a 'FAQ' section in the documentation if this is the case.

Great work! You should submit your package also to CTAN;

http://www.ctan.org

there are some more chess-related TeX and LaTeX packages (and as a bonus, a Go package), but they don't handle chess variants AFAIK. (Chinese Chess is there; Shogi is missing on CTAN).
