I have a very sad news. Peter passed away on May 6th. I am very sad. Peter was a unique person. In our field of chess variants he was an expert on all Asian games. He had checked the Encyclopedia of D.B. Pritchard very carefully (it was said that the book had been blommerized). He did the same for our A Word Of Chess at the point that he could have been the 3rd author with Rick and me. He had found all Parton's booklets, even the rarest ones for me when I compiled this work. We have lost a great and wonderful person. RIP.

Very sad news indeed. I have played against Peter in several Superches tournament, and a few years ago I travelled to The Hague regularly to meet with him for playing Shogi variants.
