The diagonals divide the board for the pawns. However a pawn is played he
can never cross the line, he stays on his side of the line. I think its a
help for playing.
We have found that it is very hard to checkmate a king because of the
medieval move of the bishop, so we use the single-king-has-lost-variant of
the checkmate.
Do you let the bishop leap? Does he capture also by leaping?

Otherwise a very fun and interesting variant.
