This small site has freeware program, what can play Xiangqi (Chinese Chess).
This program written by Pham Hong Nguyen from Vietnam, allows you to play Xiangqi against a computer. There are several playing modes: Human
against a computer, Computer against itself, and Human vs Human. VSCCP even can play against other software.
Program contains well made help, which includes description of software and rules of Xiangqi. Another nice feature of this software is possibility to
switch pieces shapes. You can switch between traditional shinese symbols and "picturial" shapes (pictures of elephant, cannon, etc.). This feature helps
greatly to beginning players.
The program has following features:
- changeable Max depth of computer thinking, and thinking time
- possibility to set the starting position
- load and save games
- undo and force move options
In order to facilitate maintenance of links, separate
pages will be made for outgoing links with a small description. Thus, when
a link changes, I need to change only one link on one spot. Note that I
have no connection to the linked sites.
