But whenever I tried to actually play a RR vs FF preset appears, not my modified army. I would appreciate any help.

Although I do not really like the nightrider piece I can still play with it. Nightrider is always a problem and it is difficult to calculate with it :). Another queen variant which is short range is NBD or NAFD.

There was one Chess with different armies tournament 2001. As far as I know none has been arranged after that. I was wondering if people are interested in another one. Let me know and we can continue this discussion.

It is certainly the most chess like variant. In Betza's language 'Heavy duty chess'. Another variant which may come close to this realization of 'brilliant yet simple idea', is the Kamikaze Shogi variant by Fergus.

Sam, Creating a new chess variants is 'trivial'. Yea it is as trivial as writing a poetry. Anybody can write down some matching words in five minutes but a good poetry is something non-trivial. Same goes here!

(Recognized!)[All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]It seems that queen in Nutty Nights (what ever its name is) is really a clumsy piece in defence and can not come back to aid once it goes too far. Hence many end games which are otherwise won, get lost (saying that after playing few test games). It would be better to at least add a 2 step backward rook move with it to have a fair and balanced game.

In this game, I was white and I won the game. However the game courier shows that my opponenet won the game.
