I really like this variant. It's simple but adds something new to the game. I think it would also be interesting to add some optional rules:

  • A friendly pawn behind its friendly pawn can bypass it by moving diagonally.
  • The knight has an additional special move. Special move: The knight can move without capturing an enemy piece two squares horizontally or vertically, provided that there is a friendly pawn between the target square and the knight.

These are my thoughts on this variant. Overall, a very interesting idea.

All pieces move in the directions defined in traditional chess (only the Knight can additionally move in orthogonal directions if we play with the second rule).

Updated. The method of separating a pawn from a knight has been changed. Now you cannot separate a pawn during a move in which the Knight captures the opponent's piece. A variant of the Queen's promotion to Chancellor has been added and the description has been corrected.

I have an idea for another modest variant, similar to Reproduction Chess, where the Queen can capture a friendly Pawn and then place it on the board. However, I cannot add it because I am limited by the number of open submissions.

I also can't delete old "Shift Tower..." and "Shift Summit..." submissions because I get the message "As a safety precaution, you may not use this script to delete a submission unless it is empty. Delete its content first if you mean to delete it.". I don't know how to remove them?
