Hexagonal chess - problem 3 - solution

Mate in two moves

White to play and mate in two moves

This problem was composed by J. Bertholomeau and R. Louisseau.

The solution is:

1.d8! threatens 2.d9Q#.
After
1...f6, 2.Bxh5#.
1... f5, Bxd5#.
1... fxe6,Sxe6#.
1... fxg6 Sxg6#.

This type of problem is called a Pickaninny.
