Super Tamerlane
I created this game to make a more modern and more fun version of the original Tamerlane Chess. To do this, I made the weak elephant, war engine, and giraffe better, by allowing elephants and war engines to move either one or two spaces, and by allowing the giraffe to jump. I also made the Rook and Bishop moves match; both skipping and jumping the first space in order. To round it out, I combined the wazir and ferz into a guard, which can move 1 square in any direction. Pawns may now promote to a piece of your own choice, including King, and there is a new super-powerful piece added solely as a promotion choice.
Setup
Pieces
The Pawn moves just as in FIDE Chess.
The Rook has a two-leg move. First, it leaps two squares orthogonally (like a Dabbabah). Then, it slides orthogonally outwards. Essentially, it moves like a standard Chess Rook, but jumps over the first square.
The Bishop also has a two-leg move. First, it leaps two squares diagonally (like an Alfil). Then, it slides diagonally outwards. Essentially, it moves like a standard Chess Bishop, but jumps over the first square.
The Knight moves as an orthodox chess Knight, leaping in a (2,1) pattern.
The Camel moves as the common fairy chess Camel, leaping in a (3,1) or (1,3) pattern like an "extended" or "long" Knight.
The Zebra moves as the common fairy chess Zebra, leaping in a (3,2) or (2,3) pattern like a "long wide Knight".
The Gazelle has a two-leg move. First, it leaps in a (4,1) or (1,4) pattern (like a Giraffe). Then, it slides orthogonally outwards.
The Siege Tower jumps one or two squares orthogonally. Ralph Betza has called this piece a "Woody Rook".
The Elephant is the diagonal counterpart of the Siege Tower; it jumps one or two squares diagonally.
The Guard moves a single square in any direction. It is taken from Chess and a Half.
The Cat jumps one or two squares in any direction. Furthermore, it may capture an enemy piece that it jumps over. It is also taken from Chess and a Half.
The Ship has a two-leg move. First, it leaps three squares in any direction. Then, it continues sliding in the same direction. Essentially, it moves like a standard Chess Queen, but jumps over the first two squares.
The Queen in this game moves as Cat or Ship. It is a ridiculously powerful piece, more powerful than any other piece that I have ever created so far. Some might say it is even more powerful than a Q+N compound. As such, it is only a promotee.
Rules
The game is played like Chess, but with a few major differences.
1. A pawn may promote to any piece, even a King.
2. You do not achieve victory until you capture all enemy Kings.
3. There is no castling.
4. Everything else is identical to FIDE Chess.
