In comparing this applet with the Interactive Diagram for the game, the very first move by the Interactive Diagram – ac3 – was not considered legal by the applet. Checking the rules confirmed that the move was legal. It's possible that Ed got the rules for this game mixed up with Cavalier Chess, since that move would be illegal for a Cavalier in Cavalier Chess when something is on b2.
