I'm not sure about what actually happens, but the power of each piece runs into the same kind of problem as Ultima: All the moves are concentrated on moving down, and this favors the defense. I'm not sure, but we might call this array of pieces the Alphabet Army.

Why is capitalization mandatory?  What is the "far right corner"?  Should the heart get up to 6 steps to complete the image?  (Isn't the fifth step downward?)
