Keeping the moves to a simple step was not only because of the compact nature of the 4x4x4 field but also to not over-tax the brains of players. A novel way of using short-range pieces to limit the size of a 3d board. The novel means of capturing is presumably the reason behind names distancing the pieces from conventionally-capturing ones. Now it's made me wonder whether Man and Beast 16 should cover this kind of capture.

I imagine this somehow combinated with the "Philosopher's Chess", so that movement on the additional board decides, what methods of capturing are avaible right now.For example, in 2x2 board tokens can be moved, dropped or removed (and there must be at least one), and each square corresponds to one of capturing ways.
