Other people doing it wrong does not set a precedent for anything. The area for writing a brief description of the rules has always been for that purpose alone. There is already another field for entering the URL for the rules page.

I see what you're saying, but I still don't quite understand, as e.g. Carlos' rules-enforcing preset for my Sac Chess variant, for example, contains just a link to the rules page for that variant (under the HTML written rules box you referred to), for example. There might be many other (old) examples of this practice. Assuming the standard for all such presets is to be changed now, I can change mine to that effect if you are absolutely requiring that of me.

In case you weren't aware, the section headed "Rules, Written in HTML for Players to Read:" is supposed to contain a written description of the rules, not a link to a rules page.
