It is normally accepted that Queen vs. Rook is a victory for the team with
the Queen in an end of a FIDE-Chess game... Not so easy!, take a moment
and see this very interesting game played in 2001, World Championship
eliminatories, between Peter Svidler(Rus) and Boris Gelfand (Isr). The
incredible happened: Svidler could not win after a long attempt and the 50
moves rule applied!. An amazing  master defense from Gelfand:
