Nice concept and homage to the original.

The "wrong reaper" is clever and not something I had thought of.

One thing maybe missing from the set is to change to the king from anti king chess that can't be captured, but requires constant enemy threat.

As mentioned the widow is essentially an immobiliser and the "independent" is overpowered, though the presence of the anti king would makes it a more acceptable piece.

Also in the spirit of the game would be to have a "mobiliser" type that for example allows double move to adjacent friendlies.

Ultima with Different Armies. I like it. :-)

Ha ha, a negative parallel universe Ultima! And now give to the white side the original Baroque pieces and to the black side the Euqorab ones. Must be a mind crushing mess.

I am unconvinced by the independent and widow: The independent seems a bit strong, and certainly if one were to play a game with several more kinds of ultima-style piece it would easily dominate the game (although it could be nerfed by capturing only as enemy pieces on the board currently unable to capture it, making it probably a good idea to trade it off in the midgame...), while the widow appears to be nothing more than a weakened immobiliser, limiting movement but adding the option (though in this case only under certain circumstances) to self-destruct. The other pieces seem interesting though; I wonder how they would work with normal ultima (and of course ultima variant) pieces...

Though there are several variant pieces whose names are shared with unlike ones, I have changed the name of the Reaper. Now it is deemed a 'Wrong Reaper', as a variant of 'Long Leaper', which it is the opposite of.

Reaper is already established as a normally-capturing pieces, Rook+Gryphon in Tripunch Chess. It might be best to substitute some other name.

The name is written BAROQUE backward. Ultima game is also called Baroque. So, yes it is Ultima variant

This looks like an Ultima variant to me. I love Ultima and think there is room for a lot more variety in the development of pieces, and I'm glad to see this variant. It would be great if someone with Zillions expertise could find the time to program it.
