There is an error in MAXIMA preset, I am trying to make the move: 39... n
d4-b4, capturing Pawn on c4, Check, ...But it appears on screen the
following message:'An immobilized piece may only commit suicide'. My
Long-Leaper is not immobilized, it is adjacent to my own immobilizer. Can
someone help me?. This is a game of the Tournament, and my time is running
and I can´t make my move. I may try another move, but it can be inferior,
or, in every case, I have selected the move above and not another one.
Please, revise what is happening and help me.

Indeed there is a bug. When your Mage captured Michael's Immobilizer on e3, it didn't set the I variable to null. So his dead Immobilizer is still immobilizing your Long Leaper (and your Immobilizer). <p>I have tried to update the preset by adding <i><br>if equal I old; <br>set I null; <br>endif;</i> <br>just before <br><i>elseif equal moved k;</i> <br>(and the equivalent for White, and also for the Kings) <p>But I have got <p><b>Warning: fopen(/home/chessvar/public_html/play/pbmsettings/maxima/Galactic.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/chessvar/public_html/play/pbm/save_settings.php on line 31 <p>Failed to write to the file /home/chessvar/public_html/play/pbmsettings/maxima/Galactic.php</b> <p>I also couldn't log directly into the system (invalid password). I guess it has something to do with the recent server events.

Is there a solution?. I tried also the alternative move: i e4-d3, but it
was not possible, because my Immobilizer is also immobilized by a ghost,
i.e. the White died Immobilizer is still acting on the position it was the
last time before being captured. Antoine said he could not make the
corrections in the code. What can be done???. My time is running.

Antoine, this could simply be from not preserving the permissions from when
we moved the site to a new location. It has frequently happened to me when
I needed to update a file on the new site for the first time. The thing to
do is to manually change the file's permissions to 777, which you can do
from the control panel or with an FTP program. Then you will be able to
save your changes.

I have updated the file. It seems to be working now.

I wonder whether there was a similar error in a game Played against Gary
Gifford in December of the last year, in which there was a phantom Pawn in
certain position, I can´t remember exactly what was the problem and how it
appeared, but it should be good revise it again, perhaps there is another
little bug that can be fixed in this opportunity. Thanks, Antoine, I´ll
try to continue with my game and I hope all is well now.
