Regarding the Orthodox Queen Variant, recently I came up independently with an idea for almost the same variant as the one with the orthodox chess queen in the setup, except I switched the locations of the Bs and Elephants in that setup, as I feared very early trades involving the Bs might often occur with the setup as given here for this Orthodox Queen Variant (my setup might have been called Hannibal Chess if I had submitted it, but now that I've seen an almost identical variant already exists, I don't think my idea for a setup warrants its own submission page). [edit: The Elephants in Hannibal Chess (which are the same as for in Courier-Spiel, i.e. leaping 1 or 2 squares diagonally) are in fact rather different than for the Orthodox Queen Variant (and others), as was pointed out by Mr. Will after this post was made, so I may reconsider Hannibal Chess' merits; regarding my earlier concern about possible frequent early trades involving bishops, this may still apply to the main setup of the Orthodox Queen Variant though]
