Below, are photos taken by John Lawson of his set and rules booklet in 2005. John writes, "The board is plastic coated cardboard, folded in quarters. One side is the 9x9 Modern chessboard, the other side is a normal 8x8 board. The pieces are dense plastic, weighted and felted. The set is contained in a green vinyl case. The name on the case is "Ajedrez Moderno", which is of course "Modern Chess" in Spanish."
