You are on the backup site for Chessvariants.com. Any posts, moves, or other changes you make here will not be permanent, because the pages and database from the main site will be backed up here every midnight EST. Additionally, things may not be working right, because this site is also a testbed for newer system software. So, if you are not here to test, develop, or merely read this site, you may want to change .org to .com in the navigation bar and go to the main site.

The Chess Variant Pages

Link to: Macrochess

Macrochess is a chess variant on a very special board: each of the six sides of a cube has sixteen squares in four by four formation. The board can be rotated.

On the website of Macrochess one can see two pictures of the attractive board, read the rules, read how to order (the game cost US$ 65 plus postage when I checked the website at May 6, 1998), read a newsletter, etc. Since the original link is no more, here it is via Archive.org:

In order to facilitate maintenance of links, separate pages will be made for outgoing links with a small description. Thus, when a link changes, I need to change only one link on one spot. Note that I have no connection to the linked sites. Image used with permission of Macrochess.
