The 8x8 Knot chess is played like orthodox chess except that the pieces move and capture along the knot chessboard which has the form of a geometric knot. The initial arrangement of pieces is shown on the knot chessboard illustrated below.
The rules of movement and capture are the same as in orthodox chess.
