Chessenat

If you had a Java-capable browser, you could play Chessenat here.
Keys "s"=save "l"=load "b"=back once

Popular game at Columbia in the 1960's. Kelbs capture custodially, i.e., moving so that an enemy unit is between two kelbs. You can move between two kelbs without being captured.

The applet lets a pinned kelb call check.

This variant is supposed to derive from the Egyptian game senet.
