Buczo's Chess. (10x10, Cells: 100) |
| 2010-02-17 | George Duke | Good | There are already 100+ variants formally that just add more of the same pieces from the types R,N,B,Q,K,P. And millions of them would be possible, for example, just by varying boards from ranks 8 to 20, and files 8 to 20. That would be 13 times 13 (=169) board sizes. Then 169 times piece mixes numbering as low as 16 units with Pawns to high of 64 with Pawns (which topmost would even fit on the little 64 squares). So, that gives 49 times the 169 (=8281) CVs. If eliminating steady increments of pieces, including for instance more Queens than Rooks etc., that 8281 becomes the sought millions of immediately recognizable regular CVs. This Buczo's 30 years ago does add promotion ease too. | View [*] |
