Kyoto Shogi is a shogi variant on a 5 by 5 board, invented in 1976 by Tamiya Katsuya. Jochen Drechsler made a website with the rules of this variant, and with the rules of Hexagonal Kyoto Shogi, a variant on a board of 37 hexes of his invention.
