I have a few questions:

1. As asked before, what is the strict definition of 'field promotions?'

2. When exactly do you create an Avenger? Is it when the Totem is checked
or after I capture the Totem allowing the opponent to then magically place
it back on the board with the Avenger?

I'm a little confused on this. Awesome variation tho.

I like story, but please, give strict definition of 'nearest' champion.

I've never played with promoting warriors. I think the game could be played either way.

I really like the story and general idea of this variant, there is just one
rule i would like clarified.

When a champion is promoted to chieftain, is a warrior promoted to replace
the champion? Or can you only loose your chieftain twice before running
out of champions?
