Castling is now fixed in the Janus Chess preset.

Okay Fergus, I took back my (illegal) castling move and played a different move, which luckily seemed to be not so bad an alternative.

Please let me know, here, if and when you've fixed this preset's problem with castling.

How to take back a move

Kevin Pacey wrote on Sun, Jul 8, 2018 11:06 PM UTC:

I'm afraid Jeremy and I played a few moves since the point I castled long (illegally). This might complicate things somehow.

I also didn't know one could take back illegal moves when using a rules-enforcing preset, let alone how to do so.

When Jeremy next gets my/our attention, I'll ask if he minds if the game is broken, if there's not much choice in how to handle this.

Take back your illegal move first. Otherwise, it will break your game when I fix this.

Attention Fergus:

For some reason the preset for Janus Chess will not let me castle long properly with White in the log below - instead of indicating my king may go to i1 (where the rules page for Janus Chess indicates it should go when castling long), I am given the choice of going to h1 instead, as I did execute reluctantly:

Janus Chess will now display legal moves when you click on a piece.
