Alfaerie Expansion Set 4. More Alfaerie graphics![All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

The zip file for set 4 is currently called alfaerie5.zip. Shouldn't it be alfaerie4.zip?

David Howe wrote on Thu, Jul 13, 2006 01:31 PM UTC:
Yes, that would be a lot less confusing. However, due to my own short-sightedness, I called the file for the first expansion set alfaerie2. And now, to be consistant with the previous sets, I must name the files with an N+1 suffix, rather than an N suffix. Let this be an example to all of how not to name their files! ;-)

hi everyone, if anyone wants to submit any graphics for this expansion set,
please send to me but don't be too long, David plans to update this next
week.
Joe, the rest of your 'grey' graphics will all be up next update.

Thank you, Christine and David. I really appreciate the Alfaerie Graphics; and that anyone can expand the set is truly excellent. The pieces are generally clear, simple, and distinctive; this allows for good visualization of new pieces. The icons are easy [for my son] to manipulate and extend. So they are easy to tinker with, for which this very much a non-artist thanks you. I believe this graphics set has a lot to do with what appears to be the increasing popularity of variants. It's attractive, generally consistent, useful and flexible. I cannot rate this, I am disqualified by having pieces in the set, but the complete Alfaerie Graphics set is beyond excellent, and is a public service for us game geeks. Thank you again. Joe

Well, I don't have any pieces in it yet, so I can rate it. Done. Good
job, David, Christine and the rest of you. As Jeremy says 'it's a wonder
what a little organization can do.'
(Umm, just a suggestion--couldn't you turn the Archers so they're facing
the enemy instead of their buddies to the left? Hey, don't hit me! :-)Did
you know that many professional archers from olden days had chronically
deformed spines from pulling their heavy bows for years and years? No OSHA
back then, Ah reckon.

Looking at this page, Alfaerie Exp Set 4, no icons is displayed (I use Safari). Either it should be repaired or this page should be removed, if any editor find the time to do so.

And Alfaerie Exp Set 5 gives 404 error. Maybe, it should be simply removed, I understand a cleaner version with SVG is coming.

It is not the correct page. Somehow the HTML page for the SVG piece set ended up in the wrong directory as index.html. And of course it refers to the SVG pieces, which are not in that directory.
